Valentine's Day Play Doh

Having an active toddler is fun, but coming up with activities to entertain their creative minds can be hard! Here is a recipe for non-toxic essential oil play-doh that your kiddies and you can make together for hours of fun. This is also great for play dates and birthday parties, as everyone can make their own with different colors and scents!!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup gluten-free flour mix (or rice flour)

  • 1 cup Tapioca Flour

  • 1/2 cup salt

  • 1 tablespoon cream of tarter

  • 2 teaspoons liquid coconut oil (or olive oil)

  • 1 cup warm water

  • Essential Oils of your choice (I let Evelyn pick her own!)

  • Organic Dyes (optional)

Add oil and water, stir together with a silicone spatula.

Cook on medium heat for about 3 minutes until it forms a ball. Remove from the heat and turn the ball out onto parchment paper. When it is cool enough to handle, knead ball for several minutes until it is smooth.

Add in your colored dye and knead. Evelyn went with orange, blue, and pink for her colors.

Add essential oils at the very end- let the little ones add it themselves!

Evelyn chose On Guard, Balance, and Serenity to put in her doh. Perfect for an immunity booster and a head start on her nap time!

Store excess doh in an airtight container for future fun!

Evelyn is sampling her play doh here- since everything we used is non-toxic, this play doh is safe when your little one inevitably sticks their hands in their mouth mid-play!
